Women in EM

We have an active and inclusive Women in Emergency Medicine group that meets several times a year in social settings. Some of the goals of our group are the following:

  • Encourage discussion of topics that pertain to gender in medicine, including but not limited to gender disparities, gaps, and different career trajectories
  • Bring awareness to some gender specific barriers in medicine and career advancement

  • Promote mentorship for women in medicine in any of their interests and different stages of their careers

  • Provide support and resources for each other as we navigate through our careers

  • Acknowledge and celebrate each other’s accomplishments

  • Discuss life-work balance and wellness topics
  •  Wind down and socialize with your colleagues and co-workers in a relaxed environment
