Faculty from the Department of Emergency Medicine are involved in several ongoing studies that address questions in public and global health, EMS, Ultrasound, Simulation and Education.
Emergency Medicine faculty and residents also participate in quality improvement initiatives in the Emergency Department and in the Jackson Health System. PGY-2 residents receive time off and funding to attend the annual American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) conference. PGY-3 residents receive time off and funding to attend the annual American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) conference.
As per the ACGME requirements, each resident is required to complete one scholarly project during our 3-year residency. Residents are also encouraged to present their projects at any of the national or regional conferences and any conferences of special interest in Emergency Medicine.
